CFD Analysis of Flow in a Blade Cascade Deformed Due to Forced Torsional Vibration
Vomáčko, V. ; Šidlof, P. ; Šimurda, David ; Hála, Jindřich
The paper presents a 3D numerical simulation of flow in a blade cascade, whose geometry models the test section of a new experimental facility for blade flutter research. In the experimental setup, the middle blade of the cascade undergoes high-frequency forced sinusoidal pitching oscillation. Due to inertial forces, the slender blade deforms elastically to certain degree. The goal of this study is to assess the influence of the elastic deformation on the flow field. To compute the deformed geometry, a transient structural analysis was performed. In the second part, the CFD model of flow past a 3D blade cascade with deformed and undeformed blade is presented and these two configurations are compared. For the deformed configuration the incidence angle increases along the blade span from -1.8° to -2.7°. However, the Mach number distribution along the span varies less than expected. blade cascade, flutter, turbomachinery, CFD
Disc friction loss in centrifugal pumps and hydraulic turbines
To má následně vliv na provoz, charakteristiky a celkovou účinnost, zvlášť v případě čerpadel s nízkými specifickými otáčkami, protože stav proudění určuje vznikající diskové ztráty. Rovněž ovlivňuje rozložení tlaku a tím výslednou axiální sílu.
Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Flows Through Turbine Cascade With Rough Blades
Fürst, J. ; Louda, Petr ; Příhoda, Jaromír
The article deals with numerical simulation of turbulent compressible flows through 2D model of a turbine with rough blades. The mathematical model is based on the Favre-averaged Navier-Stokes equations combined with several two-equations turbulence models. The wall roughness is modeled using an appropriate boundary condition for specific dissipation rate. The comparison with experimental data shows correct increase of energy losses in the case of increased wall roughness.
Modelling Flow Processes in Turbomachines using Wind Tunnels
Šafařík, Pavel ; Luxa, Martin ; Šimurda, David
The contribution is concerned with process of preparing and executing high speed aerodynamic research on models of turbomachinery flow parts. Results of research on flow past blade cascades representing sections of turbomachinery bladings are discussed. Employed optical methods of measurement provide basis for descriptions of high speed flow field structures and also for quantification of flowfield parameters. Traversing with five hole conical probe in exit flow field provide aerodynamic parameters important for design and further development of turbomachinery. Presented results have been selected from large database containing data on modelling flow parts of large output steam turbine last stages, radial compressor inducer and research on flow past compressor cascade. Results of research on flow past turbomachinery flow parts at off design conditions of operation are also presented and discussed.
The Influence of Inlet Velocity Profile on the Flow Through Prismatic Turbine Cascade
Fürst, J. ; Luxa, Martin ; Šimurda, David
The paper deals with the experimental and numerical research of flows through prismatic turbine cascade. The primary goal is to qualitatively assess the influence of the flow nonuniformity in the vicinity of side walls. Our numerical results indicate that the inlet flow non-uniformity influences the span-wise distribution of energy losses in the cascade.
Computational acoustic modal analysis of selected parts of a steam pipe system
Zolotarev, Igor ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Pešek, Luděk
The repart deals with frite element modelling and computations of the frequency-modal acoustic characteristics of selected parts of complicated pipe systems conveying water steam. In all cases studied, first 10 acoustic natural frequencies were in the frequency range up to 150 Hz. No lateral acoustic natural mode of vibration appeared in this frequency range and all modes were longitu-dinal, that can be approximately described by 1D theory for acoustic wave propagation in cylondrical ducts.
